Mrs. Jewel M. Jones, age 79, of Ellaville, GA died Wednesday May 25, 2007 at 
her residence.  Services were held Sunday, May 27 at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer 
Baptist Church with burial in the Ellaville Cemetery.  Rev. Robert Orr, Rev. 
Andy Taunton and Bro. Troy Fripp officiated.  Mrs. Jones was born July 29, 
1927 in Schley county, the daughter of Willie Bentley Miles and William David 
Miles.  She was a retired seamstress from Manhattan Shirt Company.  Mrs. Jones 
was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Ebenezer Baptist Church.  
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death  by her husband, James Marion Jones and two 
of her children, Roland G. Jones and Linda Grace Dowdy.  She is survived by 
six daughters-Shelia Hines and husband Winford of Americus, Jean Holland and 
companion, Joe Allen of Cochran, Melba James of Warner Robbins, Evelyn Taylor 
and husband Dan of Moore, Oklahoma, Charlene Cline and husband Rick, of 
Covington Ga., Lavanta Kirkland and husband Foy of Kathleen Ga.; one son, 
Ernest Lamar Jones and wife, Bette Jo of Kansas City, Mo.  Seventeen 
grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren also survive.  Pallbearers 
included Winford Hines, Rick Cline, Foy Kirkland, Joe Allen, Dan Taylor, Billy 
Streetman and Jerry Franklin.  Honorary pallbearers were the Senior Adult 
Sunday School Class of Ebenezer Baptist Church.  Visitation was held Saturday, 
May 26 from 7 until 9p.m. at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville, GA.  
The family received friends and family at the home of Sheila and Winford 
Hines, in Americus.
