JORDAN, 47, SUCCUMBS MONDAY William Sidney Jordan, 47, Americus druggist and member of a prominent family of this section, died at Prather Clinic, Americus, at noon Monday. He had been in a critical condition since undergoing an emergency operation 11 days previously. Funeral services were held at Ellaville Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at 5 o'clock, with the Rev. Roy J. Bond officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. Mack Anthony, of Americus and the Rev. Hugh Dozier. Burial was in Ellaville cemetery. The son of Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Jordan of Andrew Chapel community, he was born September 9, 1895. He was a well-known pharmacist and for many years worked at Jordan's Drug Store. After having operated a store at Savannah for a number of years, Mr. Jordan recently purchased the Americus Drug Company. Mr. Jordan united with Andrew Chapel Methodist church early in life and at the time of his death was a member of the Grace church in Savannah. In June, 1917, he married Miss Mary George Wall, of Schley county, who died August 19, 1941. By a coincidence of dates his death occurred on the same day 14 months later. He was a veteran of the First World War, having served in some of the most important battles of the fighting in France. In honor of this service, his coffin was covered with a United States flag. Mr. Jordan's untimely death is mourned by a large circle of friends. Surviving are a son, Billy, with the Air Corps at Drew Field, Tampa, Fla.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Jordan; five sisters, Mrs. J.C. Feagin and Mrs. Woodrow James, of Americus; Mrs. Vera Roddenberry, Mrs. Gladys Hitchcock and Miss Myra Jordan, all of Macon. Pallbearers were H.B.
