He was 98 years of age and had been a member of County Line church for 80 years. Death was kept waiting till the full measure of his life was meted out, then the long standing grain bowed at the feet of the grim reaper, and the weary, trusting, soul found home and rest at last. Through all the decades of this century, Mr. Kent lived in Georgia except a short while spent in South Carolina. He was a man of strict integrity, and honored by all who were privileged to know him. He leaves a large family of children and grand children to revere his memory. In the presence of a large gathering of friends and neighbors he was laid to rest in the Thornton burial ground Sunday at 12 o'clock. Rev. W.W. Tidwell performing the last sad rites in a solemn and impressive manner. After a long life of usefulness he sleeps ! well, in blessed hope of the resurrection.
