Bessie Lou for a short time only, had been a pupil of Crisp Institute but during that time had endeared herself to both pupils and teachers. Possessing a mild sweet disposition, she was indeed a lovable child, and her parents sorrow at her going away is inexpressible. To them we tender out heart felt sympathy. May "He who doeth all things well," comfort them in their bereavement. The funeral of their sweet little girl was conducted by Rev. R.E. Bailey at half past one o'clock Tuesday afternoon, and her remains interred in the Walker cemetery, beside those of her mother. She is survived by a sister, three brothers, father, and stepmother. (Transcriber's note: According to the 1910 Schley census, Bessie Lou King was the daughter of J.C. and Maggie King (stepmother?) and they were residing in LaCrosse at the time of the census. Other siblings in the household were: Joe, 21; Osgood, 19; Lula (? hard to make out), 17 and John E.B., 2. Cemetery records and marriage records indicated Katie Walker as 1st wife of J.C. King.)
