Family Funeral Program
KING, EUGENE Sr.
Deacon Eugene King, Sr., was born June 28, 1912 in Macon County, GA to Eugene 
and Willie Bell King.  He was educated in the public schools of Schley county 
and jointed Mt Zion Baptist Church, was a Deacon.  Mr. King married Lucille 
Perry and they had 5 children, one (Walter) preceded him in death.  He was a 
member of the Ellaville Light Masonic Lodge #443 and was owner of Eugene King 
Grocery Store in Ellaville, GA.  Mr. King died Thursday evening, December 12, 
1996 at Sumter Regional Hospital in Americus, GA.  Funeral services were held 
at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, December 18, 1996 at Mt Zion Baptist Church in
Ellaville, GA; Reverend James O Brown, Pastor, officiated.  Burial in Mt Zion 
Baptist Church Cemetery, family lot.   Grandsons and nephews served as 
pallbearers.  He is survived by 4 children: Eugene (Brenda) King, Jr., of 
Ellaville, GA, Carrie Bell Dixon, Minnie (Roland) Barber, Ruth Callaway, all 
of Atlanta, GA; daughter-in-law Ella Ruth Bue (Walter) King, 3 sisters and a 
brother: Julia Mae Harris of Andersonville, GA, Lucille Nelson of Pasedena, 
CA, Mary Lou (Reverend Willie) Duncan, and L C (Lucille) King, all of Detroit, 
MI; sisters-in-law, Olivia King of Ellaville, GA and Hattie King of Detroit, 
MI; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
