Burial followed in the Ellaville Cemetery. Reverend Mark Carter and Reverend Mike Bond officiated. Mrs. Lawhorn was born March 28, 1913 in Schley County, the daughter of Willie S. Snipes and Zolema Wiggins Snipes. She was a homemaker, an accomplished seamstress and pianist. She played piano for a number of churches in the surrounding area, was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church, and the Schley Ones. Mrs. Lawhorn loved and was devoted to her family. Her husband, Elbert B. Lawhorn, preceded her in death. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Delores Lawhorn of Ellaville, two daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Claude Frazier and Gloria and Buddy Owens, all of Americus, Ga., and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Ruth Poole of Ellaville. Five grandchildren, Johnny Owens, Janet Long, Brenda Owens, Linda Owens and Patty O'Neal and seven great grandchildren also survive. Pallbearers included Johnny Owens, Mark Long, Buddy O'Neal, Ben Snipes, Glen Lawhorn, and Harrel Poole. Watson-Giddens Funeral Home had charge of these arrangements.
