10 YEARS AGO (1931)
Funeral services were held at the Baptist church Tuesday, June 9, for Dr. J.A. 
Lowry, prominent Ellaville citizen, who died Monday.  A gifted speaker and a 
scholarly minister, Dr. Lowry served as pastor of many Baptist churches and an 
instructor in several colleges before moving here several years ago.  
Survivors include his widow, five daughters, one son, his mother and eight 
brothers and sisters.
