MACKEY RITES HELD TUESDAY
Felton B. Mackey, 33 year-old Marion county man, died at an Americus hospital 
Tuesday morning at 1:20 o'clock of shotgun wounds suffered Sunday afternoon.  
Sheriff E.C. Rigsby said Leo Swearingen, who told the sheriff he fired upon 
Mackey when the latter advanced upon him with a knife at his home in the upper 
edge of Schley county, was freed of blame.

Mackey's relatives swore out a warrant Thursday for Swearingen, and a 
commitment hearing was set for this morning (Friday).

Funeral services were conducted from Tazwell Methodist church Tuesday 
afternoon at 3 o'clock.  Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. 
Mackey, Tazwell; two brothers, L.C. Mackey and C.L. Mackey, Clearwater, Fla.; 
Mrs. C.B. Huckabee, LaGrange; Mrs. L.C. Singleton, Tazwell.
