I.N. MOTT PASSES AWAY The following article which appeared in the Americus Times-Recorder Tuesday, April 2nd, chronicling the sad death of one of Schley's fromer citizens, Mr. I.N. Mott, will be read with much regret by his many friends in this county. The funeral of Mr. Isaac N. Mott, who died Sunday evening at his home here, was held yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock from Furlow Lawn Baptist church, of which the deceased had long been a member. The exercises were conducted by the pastor, Rev. R.L. Bivins and Rev. O.B. Chester, of the First Methodist church. Mr. Mott was fifty-nine years old and while a native of Schley county, where he long resided, many of his best years were spent in Americus. He was a lawyer by profession and for many years has been the presiding justice of this militia district. In his profession, as in every rank of life, he was much esteemed. Mr. Mott was a thorough Bible student and few were there who gave it more careful and diligent study than he. He is survived by his wife, who Miss Mazy D. Wallis, and by one son and daughter, Mr. Wallis Mott and Miss Foy Mott, of this city, and a brother, Mr. T.J. Mott, of Ellaville. He was a member of Washington Camp, No. 14, Patriotic Order, Sons of Ameica, of this city. Delegations from the Bar Association and P.O.S. of A. attended the funeral services.
