Meyers, ordinary of Schley County, died very suddenly of heart disease at Ellaville last Monday night. Mr. Meyers and several other gentlemen were sitting in front of Cheney & Co.’s store early after supper when the death summons came. One of the gentlemen present walked to one side and called Mr. Meyers, who arose and started but made only about ten steps when he reeled and felled. He had been complaining for some time of a hurting in his breast, and that night a few minutes before he died had been complaining of being sick.
