The Obituary of Brother McElmurray. In rememberence of Brother A.J. McElmurray. Brother McElmurray was born April 12 1840 and was married Oct. 13 1859 and joined the Primitive Baptist Church Aug. 31 1878, by experience. He lived a faithful member and husband and he loved the faith of our fore fathers and lived love with his brethren. One by one, here and there the veterans of the army of Christ fall in the great beyond when their Captain calls them to their great and glorious victory over death, hell and the grave, where we hope some day to greet him never to part any more. Until then let us be reconciled to the will of him that does all things right and good. Done in conference this the 4 day of Feb. 1928. Elder W.A. Wade, Mod. H.F. Moulton, C.C. Additional Comments: I was unable to determine the exact date of death of Brother Andrew J. McElmurray nor his burial location. Unmarked at Phillippi Church is highly suspected. He married Joanna Thompson in Taylor County on Oct. 13, 1859.
