May 17, 1901 On Tuesday afternoon, at 2:45 o'clock, after months of suffering from a terrible disease, borne with an attitude that was heroic, the spirit of Seaborn Montgomery McCrory left the tenement of clay and soared to that Land Beyond the Stars. Mr. McCrory was one of our most prominent and best known citizens. Being possessed of a big heart and a charitable nature he was always first and foremost in good deeds and many will miss the hand held out to them. In the home where sits the aged mother, the loving wife and the weeping children, he was best known and honored and his place will be sacred and his memory held in high esteem. The sympathy of our entire community goes out to the bereaved family. The remains were taken to Ellaville, Wednesday, accompanied by the family and friends and interred in the cemetery at that place.
