Lee McCrory passed away to her eternal resting place from her home on East Indiana Avenue at one o'clock Tuesday morning [14 Mar 1922] after suffering a several weeks illness of double pneunonia. The deceased was the finest type of Christian southern womanhood having been a member of church ever since childhood and was ever active in all branches of the First Methodist Episcopal Church South of this city of which she was a member and in every worthy outside cause which was for the benefit and uplift of her townspeople both white and colored. For years she was president of the W.C.T.U. and had resigned only recently that some younger person might grow up with the work. In taking her to her heavenly home a flower has been taken from our midst which can never be replaced but the memory of her good deeds and Christian life will be an ever constant inspiration to her loved ones and friends.
