Family Funeral Program
OWENS, MYRTLE GRUNDY
Ms Owens was born July 17, 1905 in Ellaville, GA, daughter of Lee and Carrie 
Grundy.  She attended schools in Schley County and was a member of Cedar Creek 
Baptist Church.  She wed Felton Owens in 1924 and they had 3 children, Tommie 
Doris, Sterling and Ludeen.  They moved to Sharon Hill, PA in 1929 and Myrtle 
joined the First African Baptist Church.  She was a member of the Senior Usher 
Board, the Missionaries, The Prayer Band and Flower Club. She died Sunday, 
December 23, 1979 in Sharon Hill. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., 
Saturday, December 29, 1979 at First African Baptist Church in Sharon Hill, 
PA; Reverend Jerry William Dailey, Pastor, officiated.  Burial in Mt Lawn 
Cemetery, Sharon Hill, PA.   Survivors include two children, Sterling Owens 
and Ludeen Jordan; two sisters, Lola Grundy and Ethel Davis; a brother, Romie 
Grundy, four grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a son-in-law, a brother-in-
law, 3 sisters-in-law. Claude J Edney & Son Funeral Home, Sharon Hill, PA
