The Schley County News,  Thursday, Aug. 3, 1893
Capt. Patton, who has represented this county for several years in the state 
senate, died Friday morning about 2 o'clock.  He was loved and honored by all 
who knew him.  On giving Mr. patton up Schley county looses one of its noblest 
men.  He was buried at Concord church Saturday.  Our deepest sympathy goes out 
to the bereaved family.
