Whittington, age 85, formerly of Columbus, Georgia entered into eternal rest Thursday, September 8, 2005 at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital. Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 12, 2005, 1:00 PM at Ellaville Baptist Church, Ellaville, Georgia. Burial will follow in the Ellaville Cemetery. Reverend Jimmy Cook and Reverend Ben Foxworth will officiate. Mrs. Whittington was born December 4, 1919 in Schley County, the daughter of Emma McMickle Cook and Thomas Jordan Cook. She was a retired payroll clerk in the hotel industry and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Whittington of New Port Richey, FL; her son, Randy Whittington of Middleburg Heights, OH; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Irma Ruth Poucher. Pallbearers will include Edward Russ, Randy Russ, David Muetzel, Brandon Muetzel, Timothy Whittington, and Michael Chismar. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 11, 2005 from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Watson-Giddens Funeral Home in Ellaville, GA. Watson-Giddens Funeral Home of Ellaville, GA is in charge of arrangements.
