Services for Nan L. Brewer Peacock, age 91, formerly of Albany, GA, who died 
Sunday in the Lillian G. Carter Nursing Center, Plains, were held Tuesday, 
August 18, 1998, at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Freewill Baptist Church in 
Schley County.  Burial followed in the church cemetery.  Officiating will be 
Mr. Kenneth Robinson.

Mrs. Peacock was born on October 13, 1906 in Taylor County, Georgia and was 
the daughter of Bennett Cleveland Brewer and Eula Albritton Brewer.  She was a 
retired nurse, member of Pleasant Hill Freewill Baptist Church, and had lived 
in Albany, GA for twenty years before moving to Plains.  Mrs. Peacock was the 
widow of Clarence Jackson Peacock.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Grace Cooper Jackson, Plains, GA and 
Mrs. Nell P. Posey, Albany, GA; one son Bobby Peacock, Adolphus, KY; five 
sisters, Mrs. Edna Stephens, Snellville, GA, Mrs. Ada Tarrar, Ideal, GA and 
Mrs. Ida Wall, Ms Dot Hambrick and Mrs. Geraldine Dillard, all of Ellaville; 
eleven grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, four step-great-
grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were:  Jack Cooper, Julian (Sonny) Cooper, James Jackson, Bobby 
J.G. Peacock, G. Lynn Peacock and Kyle Kemper.  Honorary Pallbearers will be:  
Floyd Brewer, Willard Brewer, Robert Brewer, Hal Dillard, Benny Hambrick, 
Kenneth Robinson and Charlie Browder.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 7-9 p.m.

Giddens Funeral Home of Ellaville was in charge of arrangements.
