Four other occupants of the car, returning from a barbecue for the class, were painfully injured when the machine colided with a car driven by Howard McCants, Columbus salesman. McCants was not held for investigation, Sgt. W.C. Adams of the Georgia State Patrol said. Those injuured were: Clifton Athon, 17, Oglethorpe, driver of the car, lacerations and head injuries; Majorie Garner, 15, Montezuma, scalp injuries; Billy Cotz, 17, Andersonville, left wrist sprained; Julia Smith, 18, Andersonville, minor injuries. Funeral services for Miss Peters were conducted from Oglethorpe Methodist church Wednesday afternoon. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russ Peters.
