Rainey answered the summons to come up higher. Mr. Rainey has been ill for nearly a year, but his going away was never the less sad to his friends and loved ones. He was one of our best citizens, a staunch prohibitionist, and a man who loved the right and hated the wrong. He was ever loyal to the grand truths as taught in the holy Bible, and for many yearshad been a consistent member of the Baptist church here. His funeral services were conducted from the church by Rev. W.F. Culbertson Sunday afternoon, and his remains interred in the cemetery here. Six of his nephews acted as pall-bearers. He is survived by his wife and three children, who are Mrs. Mae Sellars, Mrs. Ed Cheney and Dr. C.T. Rainey, besides several grand- children.
