Ellaville, Ga--Mrs. Emily Snipes Roberts, age 79, died Saturday, May 17, 2003 
at Church Home of the Aged in Perry, Ga.  Funeral services were held Monday, 
May 19, 2003 at 4:00 PM at Hopewell United Methodist Church.  Burial followed 
in the church cemetery.  Reverend Mark Carter officiated.

Mrs. Roberts was born December 16, 1923 in Schley county, the daughter of Lala 
Albena Hart Snipes and Darrie Allen Snipes.  She was a retired school teacher, 
worked as a Home District Agent in Pitts, GA and in Blakely, GA, was a member 
of Hopewell United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School.  Mrs. 
Roberts was a faithfull worker in the community and the church.  She was 
preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Martha Snipes Randall Morris.

Survivors include two daughters and sons in law, June and Lewis Lightner of 
Ellaville, GA and Jane and Horace Snider of Buena Vista, GA, four 
grandchildren, Tina L. Snider and husband William, Dawn S. Cromer and husband 
Wayne, Kyle Snider and wife Tasha, and Dina Lightner; one great-grandchild, 
Zack Snider also survives.

Pallbearers will include Kyle Snider, Wayne Cromer, William Snider, Clifford 
Randall, Allen Randall, Darrie Randall and Wayne Randall.  The family will 
receive friends and family at Mr. and Mrs. Frank Roberts home on Hopewell Road 
in Ellaville, GA.

Watson-Giddens Funeral Home of Ellaville, GA had charge of arrangements.
