THRELKELD Mr. H.H. Threlkeld, one of our most staunch and loyal citizens, after a lingering and painful illness, passed from this world of sorrowing pain to the Paradise of God, that haven of rest, on Wednesday afternoon, August 16th. He was born December 25th, 1857 in Schley county and with the exception of a few years spent in Macon county, he had always been a resident of his home county. He was a good citizen and before his recent illness carried the mail on Route 4 and he has many friends on this route who will surely miss him. Mr. Threlkeld is survived by a loving wife, three daughters, two sisters, and three brothers. The burial was in the cemetery here at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon, the last sad rites being performed at the grave by Rev. R.F. Williamson. The News and the many friends of the family extend their sincere sympathy to them. Additional Comments: "burial was in the cemetery here," usually means Ellaville Cemetery, however there is no listed marked grave in the survey from the Schley History book. And, since I can find no other Threlkeld marked grave in any of the county's cemetery surveys, I conclude the grave was not marked. It seems that so very many graves are unmarked in Ellaville cemtery.
