WALKER Mr. Thomas J. Walker, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of our town and Schley county, died last Tuesday night, the cause of death being typhoid fever. Mr. Walker was in his seventy third year, and has lived in the county all of his life, the greater portion of which was spent on his farm near LaCrosse. Last fall, having purchased a home here, he and his wife moved to town. He was a good and a christian gentleman and leaves a record that shows a life lived full of honor, integrity and character. He leaves a wife and three children, namely: Mr. Buster Walker of Box Springs, Ga., T.H. Walker and Mrs. J.C. King, of this county. He was laid to rest yesterday afternoon at the family burying ground near his old homestead. Rev. L.A. Hill conducting the services.
