JACK WALL DEAD Mr. Jack Wall, a highly respect(ed) citizen of this county, died at his home last Friday and was buried Saturday at Hopewell, Rev. R.F. Williamson officiating. He is survived by three sisters and two brothers. Mr. Wall was about 75 years old and was one of the few remaining veterans of the civil war which cost him the loss of an eye and one arm. Additional Comments: (Transcriber's note: This would be Andrew Jackson Wall who served in Co. B, 17th Ga. Inf. His pension application indicates that his right arm was amputated below the elbow and his right eye was blinded as the result of an exploding shell at Gettysburg. According to the "History of Schley County", Andrew Jackson Wall was the son of Austin Warren Wall and Cinderella Wall, born 1835, married Sally Hayes. "Schley Co. Marriages" compiled by Max Tatum indicates that A.J. Wall married Mrs. Sallie Brown on 17 Jan 1878. Sadly, it appears that there is no marked grave for Andrew Jackson Wall at Hopewell Methodist Church cemetery. Sallie Hayes Wall's grave is marked.)
