Weekly, 88, a native Schley countian who died at her grandson, V.L. Autry's home there Monday morning at 8 o'clock after an illness of two weeks. She had been in declining health for several years. Born in what is now Schley county, Sept. 21, 1851, she was Miss Maria Singletary, daughter of James Singletary and Elizabeth Greene Singletary. Her first husband was the late Pleasant Lee. She moved to Americus about 30 years ago. The Rev. Joseph S. Cook, pastor of First Methodist church, Americus, officiated at the services. Grandsons acted as pallbearers. They were Windsor Beckwith, Finis Lee, Chambliss Lee, Milton Jones, Sheppard Tillman, Alton Autry. Survivors include 11 grand children, 11 great grandchildren and one great (great) grandchild.
