BOB WHITAKER'S PASSING RECALLS ERA OF DRAYS
Recent passing of "Uncle Bob" Whitaker, aged Ellaville negro, recalls the era 
when the dray men provided the town's transportation facilities.  "Uncle Bob," 
who died Sept. 22 in his seventies, operated a dray here for 18 years, 
retiring when motor trucks replaced horsepower in popularity.  The aged negro, 
who had been in feeble health for a long period, numbered many friends among 
white citizens who had high regard for him.  His widow, "Aunt Martha" 
Whitaker, whom he married 48 years ago, survives.
