A TRIBUTE
On the morning of Sept. 10th, 1911, the spirit of our precious mother took its 
Heavenly flight, what a fitting day, the Sabbath, for such a pure soul to meet 
her Savior face to face, and again be with the loved ones gone on before!  
Katie Rogers Williams, daughter of T.L. and Georgia McMichael Rogers, was born 
and reared in Buena Vista among refined and religious influences.  At the age 
of sixteen she was happily married to W.M. Williams, by whom she is survived, 
together with four sons and daughters.  In April she passed her fifty-sixth 
birthday.  Since a small child she has been a loyal member of the Methodist 
Church.  Her life was one of unselfish love for her Christ, her family, her 
friends, and of unbounded charity to all she knew.  No one knew her but to 
love her.  Indeed the Savior once said of such a one, "This also that she has 
done shall be told as a memorial to her."  Those who know her best, know how 
faithfully and patiently she bore life's toils and crosses.  She accepted 
every act of Providence as for the best.  Never for once, no matter how deep 
the sorrow, did she question God's Wisdom.  We are so lonely and sad without 
you, "Mamma."  This great vacancy in our lives can never, never, be filled.  
But we know that our earthly loss is your eternal gain and that ere long, we 
know not how soon, we will be with you again.  We truly know that our 
darling "is not dead but sleepeth."
