The little two year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Walters, who live a few miles north of town, caught on fire
early Sunday Morning and before assistance could be
rendered she was so badly burned that death followed on
Monday, in spite of every effort on the part of her parents
and physicians to conteract the dreadful injury.

Note-- Stella Irene Walters was in the kitchen and her
mother, went to the barn to milk the cow, Stella's dress
caught fire and her mother returned to the house to find
her on fire. This story was told to me by Ms Bobbie Jean
Walters Ford, granddaughter of Eliza DeVane Walters. Stella
Irene Walters was the granddaughter of Francis Marion and
Polly Ann Wall Devane. Her mother was Eliza DeVane Walters.
Stella Irene Walters is buried in Hopewell Church Cemetery
in Schley Co.
