ONE OF SCHLEY'S OLDEST CITIZENS PASSES AWAY
 
Mr. Charles Womack, aged 64 years, died at his home near
Ellaville last Saturday morning.  He was a well known citizen,
whose death will be regretted by his many friends.  He was born
in Monroe county in 1836 and moved to this section while quite
a young man.  Mr. Womack had been in feeble health for some
time and his death was no unexpected.  His remains were laid to
rest in Hopewell cemetery Sunday at 11 o'clock a.m. in the
presence of a large number of relatives and friends.  The
funeral service was conducted by Rev. R.F. Williamson.  The
News extends sympathy to the bereaved family.
