THESE WERE STARTING OUT 20 YEARS AGO
Most of them are married now and many have children of their own, but two 
decades ago they were beginners themselves.  The above picture, reproduced 
from a faded postcard, shows the first grades of 20 years ago and 19 years ago 
(Grades were then combined and the picture was made in 1922-23 term).  Here 
they are, front row, left to right, Alice Eason, Milton Poole, Eugene Hale, 
Richard Manning, Lynwood Croxton, unable to identify, Carey Strong, Charles 
(Buddy) Battle, second row, Olivia Williams, Neita Belle Gilmore, Erldine 
Hill, Clinton McBride, Mazie Crowley, Henrietta Morrison, Susie Weaver, 
Majorie Wimbish, Margaret Greene, Virginia Rainey, Carmen Rainey, Eilen Hart, 
Lucille Thompson, Rosalind Rainey, Helen Colins, Tabitha Gilmore; third row, 
Miss Hattie Arringtin (now Mrs. C.C. Williamson), teacher, Kathryn Weaver, 
Lois Persons, Louise Grantham, unable to identify, W.H. Grantham, McDonald 
Snipes, Wamon Tison, J.A. Chapman, Raymond Duncan, Lewis Dyess; back row, 
Effie Rainey, Ruth Snipes, Addie Wall, Othello McMahan, not known, J.Strong, 
Hugh Morrison, Durrelle Eason, Otto Pilcher, Paul Tondee.  Three members of 
the class--Milton Poole, Mazie Crowley and Eileen Hart--have died.  Otto 
Pilcher is the father of Roger Pilcher in the 1941 group.

Additional Comments:
There are many names here that are unknown to me, but I'll be some of you are 
familiar with them.  I invite you all to tell the list about any of these 
folks that you can.  Simply "reply to" so that we can all share in your 
memories of any of these folks.
