STATE OF GEORGIA
By His Excellency James M. Smith,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Navy of this State and of the 
Militia thereof.

To J.N. Cheney, Esq.:  GREETING.

By Virtue of the Power and Authority in me Vested by the Constitution and Laws 
of the State, and in pursuance of your election, I hereby Commission you the 
said J.N. Cheney, Clerk of the Superior Court of the County of Schley.  You 
are therefore, hereby authorized and required to do and perform all and 
singular, the duties incumbent on you as Clerk of the Superior Court of the 
County aforesaid, according to Law and the trust reposed in you.  This 
Commission to continue in force for and during the term pointed out by the 
Constitution and Laws of this State, or until removed in the manner prescribed 
by Law.

Given Under my Hand and the Seal of the Executive Department, at the Capitol, 
in the City of Atlanta, the fourteenth day of January, in the year of our 
Lord, One Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy-five.
