FAMILY OF 10 LOSE ALL POSSESSIONS IN FIRE
A family of 10 persons lost their entire possessions shortly before noon last 
Thursday when the Marion Jones residence one and a half miles from Ellaville 
burned.  

Carrie Lee Hart, a colored servant, received severe burns on both arms, but no 
one else was injured.

T.J. Jones, 82-year-old retired carpenter, carried his 78-year-old wife, and 
invalid for several years, from the home.  Six children of Mr. and Mrs. Marion 
Jones, ranging from seven years to four months, also were in the home at the 
time.  Their parents were away at work.

The fire started from a kerosene cook stove.  The Ellaville fire department 
promptly a nswered an alarm, but arrived too late to be of any assistance.  
Friends all over the county gave immediate assistance to the family, and gifts 
still were coming in this week.  The family now is residing on U.S. 19 about 
two miles from Ellaville.
