CHAMP, RUNNER-UP "BEAR DOWN"
Plucky Eugene Eason, ninth grader of Ellaville school, is shown here knuckling 
down for a crucial shot in The Atlanta Journal's statewide marbles tournament 
at Grant Park in Atlanta, Saturday, while runner-up Vernon Dillard, of Concord 
school, pulls for him.  Eugene was extended to the limit before losing in the 
first round.  After splitting the first two games, he lost the deciding match, 
7-5.  The champion and Vernon, top mibsters in The Sun's annual mibs program, 
joined Raymond Duncan in the trip, highlighted by a round of the sights in 
Georgia's capital city, including the Cyclorama at Grant's Park and a movie.
