Driver of County Line bus for six years, Jesse had a perfect record for safety and won the confidence and admiration of the boys and girls, their parents, school officials and the general public. The dinner was staged in his honor at the Belmont Hotel. There weren't any speeches, just a swell meal, a lot of jovial conversation and a round of firm handshakes. "This one is for Jesse, to let him know what we think of him," said big Leo Williams as the meal started. That was all the speech-making that took place. Jesse pulled out for Fort McPherson Thursday morning. Attending were A.P. Snipes, L.S. McMickle, M.C. Murray, Willie Stewart, E.E. Jernigan, C.H. Greene, Leo Williams and the guest of honor, drivers of the county system, and Raymond Duncan.
