INTRODUCING ELLAVILLE'S NO. 1 SPORTS FAN
Anyone who has ever attended a basketball game or a boxing program at 
Ellaville gymnasium does not have to be told the identity of the man with the 
broad smile.  He's our town's No. 1 sports fan---Carl Mott.  Ticket-taker at 
the gymnasium no matter what the athletic attraction, Carl's enthusiasm never 
slackens--win, lose or draw.  When the home club is winning, he is standing 
there cheering after everybody else is too hoarse to carry on.  And when the 
locals are losing, he is whooping it up after everybody else has lost heart.  
The girls' team of Schley county high school is his favorite of them all.  And 
with five smart victories behind them, it looks as if he's going to root them 
home many a night before the season is closed out next March.  A rural letter 
carrier since his late teens, Carl has been an outspoken supporter of all 
sports activities here since building of the gymnasium touched off interest in 
a number of games.
