Tip enlisted in Co. G, 5th Ga. Inf. exactly one week later on May 11th. Kittie was the daughter of Chaner Bell Strange and Nancy Elizabeth Goodson. Kittie was born in 1844 and died about 1877 giving birth to twins. Tip was born in 1839 and died 12 Oct 1905. Both are buried in Ellavile cemetery. Tip was flag bearer for the 5th Ga. Inf. He was a member of Co. G, 5th Ga. Inf. for four years. There is a very touching story written by his daughter Tommie Curtis Barnes whose picture appears in the Schley Photo Archives.
