The stone is topped with a conch shell and is engraved with only the last name "McCrory." I believe this stone marks the graves of Seaborn M. McCrory, b. 14 Dec 1854, d. 14 May 1901, and his son [Clyde] Cleghorn, b. 21 Jan 1889, referred to in the Schley County News obituary. Both are listed in the 1900 census of Macon Co., Ga.: McCrary, Seaborn M. 47 Stablekeeper Ga Mary I. wife 42 GA Harrell P. son 22 Insurance agt. Ga. Charlie E. son 14 Cleghorn son 12 Seaborn son 9 Janie D. dau. 7 Margaret dau-in-law 19 The Schley County News Friday, September 21, 1906 DEATH OF MR. McCRORY The remains of Mr. Cleghorn McCrory, who died of Typhoid fever at the Americus Hospital on last Thursday morning was brought to Ellaville on the afternoon train of the same day. The funeral services were conducted from the home of Col. C.R. McCrory on Friday morning and interred beside the grave of his father, the late Seaborn McCrory, who died at Oglethorpe several years ago. (Note: Ellavile cemetery surveys do not indicate either Seaborn or Cleghorn buried in Ellavile City Cemetery. Both obits do.)
