Sarah Woodall's obituary in the October 1885 edition of
The Gospel Messenger states her date of birth as Feb.
24, 1798, not the 1801 inscribed on her stone at
Phillippi.


THE GOSPEL MESSENGER
Butler, Ga., October, 1885, Vol. 7, No. 10
Sister Sarah Woodall, died of dysentery, at her son-in-
law's residence, in Marion County, Ga., on the fifth
Sabbath in May last, at the advanced age of 88 years.
The deceased was born in North Carolina, Feb. 24, 1798.
She was married in her youth to Clement Woodall, with
whom she lived in peace, love, and harmony until his
death several years ago. She remained a widow. She
joined the church at Hannah's Creek, N. C. in March
1828, and was therefore, a member nearly 58 years. She
was in the split in N. C.; soon after which her husband
moved to Houston Co., Ga. She immediately became a
member of Bethel, and was in the memorable division
which occurred at that place in 1836. They afterwards,
I think about 1845, moved to Schley County, Ga. where
her husband died. She immediately became a member at
Phillippi, Schley Co., Ga. where she remained a member
up to her death. After funeral service by Elder B.
Stewart, her body was deposited in the cemetery at
Phillippi, to await the morning of the resurrection.

the 5th Sabbath in May, last at the residence of her
son-in-law, she was 88. Born Feb. 24, 1798 in N.C.
Widow of Clement Woodall. Joined Hannah's Creek Church
in N.C.  March 1828.. She was in the split in N. C. and
soon after she and her husband moved to Houston County,
Georgia.  She immediately became a member of Bethel and
was in the memorable division which occurred in 1836.
They removed to Schley County Georgia where Clement
Woodall her husband died. Funeral services by Elder B.
Stewart. Buried at Phillippi. Elder John Green Murray
