The ceremony performed by the Rev. Richard C. Howard at the Baptist pastorium in the presence of Misses Jeanette Barwick, Adele Bivins and Kate Tondee. The bride, an attractive blonde, wore a gold sport suit with becoming japonica accessories completing her costume. Mrs. Hiers is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.F. Barwick of the Hopewell community. She attended Ellaville high school and for the past year has been employed at the Manhattan shirt factory. Mr. Hiers is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Heirs of Moultrie. He is a graduate of Moultrie high school. Since returning from the Panama Canal, he has been stationed at Fort Benning where he is connected to the provision department. The couple will reside at Fort Benning upon their return from a wedding trip to points of interest in Florida.
