The Schley County News  Thursday, November 9, 1905
HIXON--WALTERS A marriage that somewhat came as a
surprise to their many friends was that of Miss Emma
Jett Hixon to Mr. John Walters, which occured at the
home of Rev. O.L. Peacock on last Sunday morning.
They prefering a quiet affair, rode to the home of
Mr. Peacock and in the presence of a number of their
closest friends a beautiful and impressive ceremony
was performed.  After which, they returned to the
home of the bride's parents, Judge and Mrs. T.J.
Hixon.  These young people have a host of friends in
the county who will with pleasure receive the news
of their happy union, and will henceforth feel the
deepest interest in their married life.  The News
extends best wishes.
