L.D. JORDAN Simplicity and dignity marked the marriage of Miss Mary Grace Littlefield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Littlefield, of Woodruff, S.C., to the Rev. Lynwood D. Jordan, of Rochelle, which took place Wednesday afternoon at 5 o'clock at Andrew Chapel Methodist church. The Rev. John D. Sharp, presiding elder of the Americus district of South Georgia conference, performed the ceremony in the presence of the immediate families and many invited guests. The altar, banked with ferns and palmetto leaves, interspersed with baskets of daisies, was rimmed with smilax and starred by a myriad of candles burning in cathedral candelabra. Prior to the service, Miss Jane Hill, accompanied by Mrs. Bessie Lou Lightner, sang "At Dawning" and "I Love You Truly". As the couple knelt for prayer, she softly sang, "Seal Us, O Holy Spirit". Mrs. Lightner played Mendelssohn's "Wedding March" for the processional and the "Bridal Chorus" from "Lohengrin" for the recessional. Miss Hill wore address of pink net with a corsage of gladioli and Mrs. Lightner a dress of navy blue sheer crepe. Candles were lighted by the ushers, Mr. Frank Downer, of Rochelle, and the Rev. Reginald Edenfield, of Kite. Preceded by the minister, the couple entered together. The bride, a charming blonde, was loveling (lovely?) in a Redingote model of light blue crepe, accented by organdie collar and cuffs. She chose navy accessories and her corsage was of white carnations and snapdragons. Mrs. Littlefield, mother of the bride, wore blue and white printed silk and Mrs. W.C. Jordan, mother of the groom, wore blue crepe. Much significance was placed in the scene of the marriage as the groom united with the church there, and was ordained as a minister there. Following the service the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Jordan, entertained at a buffet supper at their home in Shiloh community. Afterwards, the couple left for a short trip. The bride was graduated from Woodruff high school and Asheville Teachers College at Asheville, N.C. She taught school at Pitts, Ga., the past year. Rev. Mr. Jordan was graduated fro Anthony high school and Georgia Southwestern college, Americus. He also has studied at Georgia State Teacher's College, Statesboro, and in Baltimore, Maryland. For the past four years he served as principal of Rupert and Andersonville schools. He was assigned to the Rochelle charge of the Methodist church last November.
