The bride-prospective is one of the most charming women of that little city and one of the most charming women of that little city and a host of friends of both bride and groom are reserving heartiest congratulations. Mr. Kiker is the efficient stenographer of the southwestern judicial circuit, and is widely known in this part of the state as well as in north Georgia, having formerly resided in Gordon county. The happy couple will make their home in this city. Additional Comments: This wedding announcement is slightly in error as Mr. Kiker married Mrs. Scoville, not Miss Scoville. Catherine Cleghorn was first married to Wm. T. Scoville in Schley Co. on 22 Oct 1872. The Scovilles were the proprietors of the Ellaville Hotel, sometimes refered to as Ellaville House or Scoville House. There is a recently posted article about a horrific train wreck just south of Ellaville where their eldest child Charles was killed. Catherine married John Kiker in Macon Co. on Dec. 8, 1897 and for whatever reason did not live in Americus long or possibly ever. They are found on the 1900 Macon Co. census in Oglethorpe. In the household are several Kiker children which must have been the issue of a previous marriage for Mr. Kiker and the two youngest children of the Scoville marriage.
