The marriage of Miss Martha Granberry Baldwin and Mr. Harvey Clayton Perry took place at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Williams Thursday morning at ten o’clock. The ceremony was performed by Dr. Lancing Burrows of the First Baptist Church of Americus. The home was elaborately decorated, the walls of the entrance hall and parlors being festooned by bamboo. As the guests entered the fruit punch was served by little Misses Hattie Arrington and Ruth Sears. The decorations in the front parlor were in white and green. In the corner opposite the entrance room there was an improvised altar of evergreens. While Miss Lucy Baldwin sand, “I’d Live Or I’d Die For You”, Dr. Burrows entered the parlor and took his stand in front of the altar. As Mrs. Harry Freeman Dixon played Mendelsohn’s March, Misses Velma Williams and Elizabeth Davis marched in, forming an aisle with white ribbon through which the groom and his brother, Mr. Oscar Perry, followed. The bride, dressed in a blue traveling suit, entered with her brother, Mr. Frank B. Baldwin of Atlanta.
