Wall, Miss Ruth Wall and Mr. Jodie Sears were happily united in the holy bonds of matrimony by Rev. W.F. Culberson, pastor of the Baptist church here. While Mrs. J.S. Lightner played Mendelssohn's wedding march, the bride entered the parlor on the arm of the groom and stood before an improvised altar of spingere ferns. During the impressive ceremony, Mrs. Lightner played softly "Melody of Love." Immediately after the ceremony, the guests were invited into the dining room, where a five course dinner was served. The table was tastefully decorated with Chrysanthemums, having in the center a vase of these lovely flowers on a centerpiece of hand-made embroidery. Ferns were also used to decorate the dining room and hall. The bride was arrayed in a dark blue velvet suit, which was very becoming. Pretty at all times, she never looked fairer, than on this, her wedding day. Possessing much gentleness and sweetness of character, she has many friends who wish her a life of happiness and joy. The groom is the only son of Dr. and Mrs. W.D. Sears, and is popular in both business and social circles. The large number of presents they received attest the high esteem in which they are held in our county.
