MISS SARAH WALTON BECOMES BRIDE OF PALMER W. HAMIL
Miss Sarah Walton became the bride of Palmer W. Hamil at a quiet ceremony 
taking place on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 5, at 4 o'clock in Americus at the 
home of Rev. John R. Joyner, who officiated.

The ceremony was attended by a group of close friends of the couple.

The bride, an attractive blonde, wore a dress of black sheer material, 
featuring a high neck line and three-quarter length gloves, with white ruching 
in the neck and sleeves.  Her hat was a black turban with a veil.  Her 
accessories were of black suede.  She wore gold costume jewelry.

The elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.K. Walton of Byron, Ga., Mrs. Hamil was 
graduated from the high school there and from Middle Georgia hospital at Macon 
in September, 1937.  She became nurse at Boyette's clinic here immediately 
after her graduation.

Mr. Hamil is a son of Mr. D.L. Hamil of Griffin and the late Mrs. Alice 
Hamil.  He was graduated from Griffin high school and attended North Georgia 
college at Dahlonega for three years, transferring to the University of 
Georgia, Athens, where he was graduated in 1934.  After serving as farm 
supervisor in Burke county for nine months, he came here to become 
agricultural agent for Schley county.

The couple left immediately after the ceremony for a short trip to points in 
Florida.  They will return early next week to make their home here.
