I Joseph Mott of Said State and County, being of advanced age and knowing that I must shortly depart from this world, deem it right and proper, both as respects myself and my family, that I should make a disposition of the property with which a kind providence has blessed me, I therefore make this my will and testament hereby making and annulling all others heretofore made by me; Item 1. I desire and direct that my body be buried in a Christian like manner, suitable to my circumstances and condition, my soul I trust Shall return to rest with God who gave it as I hope for eternal salvation through the blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whose religion I have professed , and as I humbly trust have enjoyed for forty five years; Item 2. I desire and direct that all my just debts be paid without delay by my Executrix and Executor hereinafter named, as I am unwilling my creditors should be delayed of their rights especially as there is no necessity for delay. Item 3. I give and devise to my beloved wife Sarah with whom I have lived in the united, quiet and --?-- for thirty years lot of land number seventy in the twenty ninth District originally Lee now Schley county containing two hundred two and one half acres more or less, about one hundred and sixty acres of which are cleared and in cultivation. Also the north half of lot of land number eighty and in twenty ninth District originally Lee, now Schley County, containing one hundred one and one fourth acres more or less in the aggregate three hundred three and three fourth acres, more or less with all the rights numbers and appurtenances to said lots or parcels of land in anywise appertaining or belonging free from all charges or limitations whatever to her own proper use benefit and --?-- with full power to control or dispose of the same during her natural lifetime. I also give and bequeath to my wife in the same --?--manner the farming utensils used on and belonging to said plantation of every description whatever including wagons and Buggies and --?-- of all description horses mules Cattle, and hogs, Household and kitchen furniture, at her death the above named land to be turned over to my beloved son Thomas Jefferson with all the rights numbers, and appurtenances to said lots or parts of lots of land in anywise appertaining or belonging forever. Item 4. I devise and request my beloved wife to give to the five Children namely Isaac Newton MOTT, Emma Josephine, Theodosia, Georgia Alice and Thomas Jefferson such household and kitchen furniture and --?-- as the other children have had when they left, Also to give my beloved daughter Theodosia two hundred dollars in money or its equivalent to make her land equal to the land the rest of the children have had to above named property to be given when the children come of age or marries. Item 5. I appoint my trusty son Isaac N. MOTT guardian of the person and property of said minor son Thos Jefferson. Item 6. I institute and appoint my beloved wife Sarah Executrix, and my beloved son Isaac Newton Executor to this last will and testament. Georgia Schley Codicil to the last Will and testament of Joseph MOTT of said county, I Joseph MOTT while in the possession of all mental faculties do make this codicil to my last Will and testament, said will having been made the tenth day of July l875, I give device convey and assign to my son Francis M. MOTT undivided interest in the following lots of land viz, lot of land Number eleven in the second District of originally Muscogee now Macon County, and said State, and seventy nine acres, lying on the west line of lot of land Known as seventy six in the first District of originally Muscogee now Macon County. My will and desire is that my son Francis M as aforesaid should have and enjoy the land aforesaid and have its --?--for and during his natural life and after his death my will and desire is that his children receive and hold forever share and share alike of the aforesaid undivided half interest of said land. I give unto my son Francis M. MOTT the aforesaid undivided half interest in Said land in the manner aforesaid for and in considersation of his kindness and services rendered me to my last illness and in lieu of any pay to which he is entitled for services rendered during my last and very protracted sickness and this gift affects as a receipt in full from said Francis Marion MOTT.
