Just above the fork in the road across the street from the Harmony Methodist Church on Hwy 301, in Screven County, GA. Erroneously listed as Meeks on GNIS. Six known graves -- possibly two more. The cemetery was at one time on Meads family land. My Grandfather William Byron Meads was married as indicated in the 1900 Federal Census, but no name of a wife or child is listed. Family story is that she died along with the child during the birth. These two may be buried there, if they are, there are no markers. James Meads Oct. 6th 1851 died Feb. 26th, 1934 (Great Grandfather) Has a headstone Anna Elizabeth Meads Sept. 17th 1855 died Sept. 29th 1918 (Great Grandmother) Has a headstone William Byron Meads Aug. 22, 1878 died Dec. 24th 1929 (Grandfather) Has a headstone ? However, Lecie Mead died May the 18th and the baby only known as Infant Mead died three days later on May 21st 1901. Both were buried on Great-Granddaddy's Land. Lecie's grave has a stone, the infant does not. Thomas Mead was born May 5, 1852 and died May 18, 1924. He is buried next to Lecie and there is a headstone for him. Both stones are no longer visible, probably due to the cows in the pasture.
