Screven County Georgia Deed of gift George Lounsdell Rudd File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Linda Rudd LRudd71847@aol.com Table of Contents page: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/screven.htm Georgia Table of Contents: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm George Lounsdell Rudd Deed of Personal Property, Screven County, GA Transcription by Linda Rudd The following transcription is taken from the microfilmed copy of the Deed as found in the Screven County, GA deed book where it was registered in 1797. Note that George L. Rudd's mark does appear on this copy as an "L". A different hand written copy of this deed without the "L" mark was recorded May 4, 1804 in Charleston District, South Carolina and appears in the State Miscellaneous Records as a Will of George Lounsdell Rudd. There is no additional testimony in the recording of the deed in South Carolina to tell us who was responsible. I assume the deed had been recorded upon the death of George Lounsdell Rudd and became known as a Will, by either George Jr. Rudd or Ely Rudd as they were appointed custodians for the property. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ George Lounsdell Rudd To Deed of Gift forwarding Stock To all people to whom these presents shall come Geo.
