South Carolina in 1841.)

Graham, Samuel I. (or Samuel J.) -- Private - August 10,
1861. Captured near Stilesboro, Georgia October 15, 1864.
Applied for oath of allegiance January 1, 1865: "Claims to
have been loyal. Was conscripted into Confederate Army."Took
oath of allegiance to U. S. Government at Camp Douglas,
Illinois and enlisted in 6th Regiment U. S. Vol. Infantry
April 2, 1865.

Hodges, George Washington -- Private - February 20, 1862.
Admitted to Macon, Georgia hospital with rheumatism November
7, 1863. Wounded, left thigh broken, knee and hip
dislocated, lost right eye, at Atlanta, Georgia July 22,
1864. Sent to Confederate Hospital at Forsyth, Georgia in
1864. Unfit for further service. (Born in Georgia September
15, 1839. Died at Marlow, Georgia May 1, 1919.)

of prisoners of war at Camp Douglas, Illinois bears his
name, and shows he applied for permission to take oath of
allegiance to U. S. Government January 1, 1865. The
following remarks appear relative to him: "Claims to have
been loyal. Enlisted through false representations. Deserted
to avail himself of amnesty proclamation." Another roll
dated at Camp Douglas, Illinois shows he was discharged May
18, 1865.
