M. Henderson Georgia, Screven County. I, W. M. Henderson, being of sound and disposing mind and memory do make this my Last Will and Testament. Item 1st: I will and direct that all my just debt be paid by my Executrix hereinafter named without unnecessary delay. Item 2nd: I hereby give and bequeath to my wife, Cynthia Ann Henderson, all of my property, both real and personal wherever located for and during her natural life and upon her death it is my desire and I so will and direct that said property shall descend to and be divided among my following children, share and share alike, to wit: Mrs. Elizabeth Evans, Mrs. Annie L. Farr, Mrs. Mary A. Overstreet, Mrs. Emmie G. Hollingsworth, and Miss Lottie Henderson. Item 3rd: I hereby constitute and appoint my daughter, Lottie L. Henderson, the sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament; hereby relieving her from giving any bond or making any returns to any Court. W. M. William Michael Henderson, CSA, was born 28 February, 1843, to William Michael Henderson and his wife, Mary Ann Young, daughter of James Young and Lavinia Jones Young. He served in the 5th Georgia Calvary, and was promoted to 1st Lieutenant after his bravery was exhibited on the battlefield during the Battle of Buck Creek Church, Burke County, Georgia, wherein he rescued the fallen regiment flag. That flag was later, posthumorously, delivered to the Bulloch Troops in Statesboro, Georgia, in May of 1832, after his death at 6:00 a.m. at his home in Cooperville, Georgia, on 17th of April, 1932.
