Georgia: Seminole County: Obituary of Robert Wade Alday August 29 1949 This file was contributed by: Brenda King McNair < bmcnair614@aol.com> Mr. Bob Alday Robert Wade Alday, 60 years of age, died suddenly of a heart attack Monday morning, August 29. Mr. Alday had lived in Seminole County all his life, having been born here January 31, 1889. He was prosperous and a well-known farmer. He was descended from one of the pioneer families who settled this country and has a wide family connection. His wife, Henrietta, survives him as does the following children: Clarence, of Blounstown, Florida; Robert and Thomas, of Bainbridge; Charlie Lee, Willie B., Marvin and Mrs. Odella Kirkland, Ruth and Irene of Donalsonville; Dell of Thomasville; and Mrs. Roy Kelly, of Thomasville. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Sid, Cecil, Newton and Albert Alday and Mrs. G. L. Earnest, of Donalsonville; Fletcher Alday, of Bainbridge; and Chalmos Alday, of Chattachoochee. Mr. Alday was the son of the late Jim and Mary Braswell Alday. He was a member of the Church of the Assembly of God at Calvary for the past nineteen year, from which he was buried at 4:00 P. M. August 31st in the Calvary Cemetery with the Reverend Thomaston, officiating, assisted by Reverend Walton. Reverend Henry Cloud, Dock Murkinson, George Branch, Tommy Cloud and Don Matthews served as Pallbearers. Evans and Son were in charge. Source: Donalsonville News Friday, September 2, 1949.
